Name your top 5 Christian metal albums of all time. For myself I'm going to name them in relevance of importance to my walk with Christ in my life.
1. Stryper - Soldiers Under Command - This is the one that started it all for me. This cassette introduced me to hard rock with a positive message and ultimately introduced me to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2. Tourniquet - Psycho Surgery - The first time I heard Ted Kirkpatricks drums on Viento Borrascoso, I was hooked.
3. Deliverance - Weapons Of Our Warfare - I still think this is their best work. Jimmy P Brown at his best with Weapons of our Warfare and 23 setting off an arsenol that will fry your brain.
4. Messiah Prophet - Master Of The Metal - Surprise choice here. I played this tape until it completely melted in the tape player. The songs For Whom the Bell Tolls and Battle Cry are still some of my all time favorites.
5. Recon - Behind Enemy Lines - Another classic release with some of my favorite metal riffs of all time. Unfortunately they were such a short lived band.
6. Demon Hunter - Summer Of Darkness - Ryan Clark and company put out this sonically superior helping of Metal in 2004. Some classic songs on here such as My Heartstrings come undone and Not Ready to Die.
7. Bloodgood - Bloodgood - These guys came along a little while after Stryper and upped the anty a little bit. What's following the grave is still one of my all time favorite songs. Les Carlson is one of my favorite vocalist of all time since he sings with such a sincere passion.
8. Believer - Dimensions - The band that brought technical metal to the forefront. Who'd have ever thought that throwing some orchestration in with thrash would work so well. Classic album!!!
9. Barren Cross - State of Control - Stage of Intensity says it all for me. I just can't get enough of that song.
10. Stryper - To Hell with the Devil - A little more commercial than Soldiers but produced so well. The title track says it all and the band never sounded better.
I'll probably figure out some that I missed later but these are off the top of my head so that means they've meant alot to me over the years.
