Hebrews 11:1 calls Faith "The substance of things hoped for and the eveidance of things unseen!" ROM 10:17 says "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" Luke 17:6 says "And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea" James 18-20 explains " 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" Ehp 6:16 call faith a "Shield that will quench ALL the firey darts of the wicked!"" How do we build, maintain and utilize our Faith in this world in a very real and practical way?? What are some examples of Faith in our lives?

Faith grows through God's revealing Himself to us. The more God reveals Himself to us, the stronger our faith becomes. My faith is stronger now, after 20 years of being a Christian, because of all I have seen God do, and all the prayers He has answered for me.

Well the Word says; "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God", so bible study is a great way of building our faith, also listeneing to the Word can be edifing as well. It's good to recall when God has acted on our behalf in the past, especially in "dry times".

When we were saved we were given the amount of faith needed to go through out our lives believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Without faith it would be impossible to belive that!

Just think of Elijah.. He stood up to the corruption of Ahab and Jezebel's Prophets of Bale and even brought fire from heaven in God's name, yet he fell into a dark depression and asked God to just let him die.. We all fall... The trick is getting back up again, no?

So even then, and as low as he felt, he still acknowledged God was present and would help.
I get into these dry or absent times as well. I know He is there, but sometimes I can't connect for a couple of days. But I will continue to talk and pray to Him, and read His Word.
When the dry time fades, I experience even more elation than I had previously. So I believe the dry times are present to help make us stronger, perhaps. I don't look at them as a test type of thing, but more of an inner realization that we do need Him in our lives every day and not only when we need His help. The more I include Him in my everday things, the less the dry times develop.
