Ok. So as a fan of Christ Metal since the age of 15 why is it that the Christ Metal scene never started any of the trends? Yes Stryper were the ones to bring Christ Metal to the masses, but how come the Christian Music Business coludn't out do the secular?
The "church" always follows the world. Shouldn't be the other way? Just a question.

The "church" always follows the world. Shouldn't be the other way? Just a question. In my humble opinion, you are correct. I feel the Christian record labels need to take more of a chance on Christian Metal bands who may not be doing something that is mainstream 'at the moment' , while the secular labels jump in front. The metalcore genre may be a good example. Slightly far back for me to remember accurately, but i recall secular bands like killswitch engaged first before a Christian label followed with anything. Now we see As I lay Dying, Demon Hunter etc... Christian Labels need to take a leading role.

It should, but I think the whole trend catch up thing will always happen. There have always been CM bands ahead of the curve but they rarely gain popularity because their style is not popular. The only ones that really get noticed are bands who doing things that are happening now (or last year haha).

most Christian bands/labels just go after whats popular, and there are very few original bands, i listen to the all thrash podcasts and there's like 100 wanna be Christian Slayer bands, and now all the labels put out is metalcore, i for one can't stand metalcore, and a lot of the secular world believes the same. Metalheads, real metalheads are very picky when it comes to what they listen to and for a secular person to grab onto a Christian band they better be very good cause 90% of metalheads i know will already shoot it down cause it has Christian in it in the first place
